Hawthorn Spirit [ Heart Balm + Grief Medicine / Spirit Communion}
Hawthorn flower essence was crafted during a beautiful and transformative May weekend Ceremony, surrounded by many years of healing and heart re-awakening stories, which I was so honoured to be a part of. The majestic Hawthorn trees embraced our Sacred Temple and Ceremony space, offering support we needed to release, heal, and remember our inherent magic, medicine, and unique gifts. Hawthorn is a very close friend, very supportive in my personal grief journey. It took me almost five years to craft this flower essence, years of connecting + communion. Last summer, I undertook the task of saving three pots, of very sad and neglected Hawthorn trees that had been left in poor condition at the garden centre. They have been planted in my medicine garden, where they are tended with so much love and tenderness. I am so deeply honoured to have these sacred beings, so close to my home. Their presence is everything, and I cannot wait for them to return in Spring.
Hawthorn is a beautiful and highly revered being, known to be a gateway into the world of Spirit.
They hold the heart during times of loss, grief, heartbreak and emotional stress. Gatekeeper, guide and protector of the heart. Hawthorn helps us settle our spirit and nourish + nurture heavy heart, supporting us in finding deeper love and compassion for ourselves. Hawthorn helps us transform deeply buried grief, resentment, heartache + heartbreak, restoring hope, love, trust and forgiveness, reminding us of our strength and resilience. A beautiful guide and teacher of loving + healthy boundaries, piercing the veils of deceptions + illusions, so we may see clearly.
Hawthorn is truly one of the most loving beings. Very often, when I sit with Hawthorn, I experience a profound sense of deep protection and safety, along with an invitation to release all that isn't serving my highest good. It is during these moments that I often find myself crying and processing all unaddressed emotions or grief that I have carried with me. Sometimes, the sadness I feel is difficult to put into words, perhaps stemming from the state of the world we live in, or from memories of the land with which I deeply connect with. In this way, Hawthorn can be a very supportive ally for those who identify as empaths or highly sensitive, as they often find themselves overwhelmed by the hurt and sorrow present in the world around them. Hawthorn will tenderly hold your heart as you undergo a necessary release and guide you back to your center—the heart, a vessel of perception, wonder, and magic.
Ingredients: Hawthorn Blooms + Thorns, Spring Water + Brandy ( and a bunch of ants that could not keep off the vessel in which I placed Hawthorn blossoms in - I think they are part of this medicine and messengers too :)
