Nourish ~ Herbal Tallow Balm
Nourish tallow balm was first crafted over a year ago with a focus on skin healing, nourishing, and soothing plant allies: Calendula, Chamomile, and St. John's Wort. These three plant friends are beautiful wound healers and excellent topically to help the skin heal from cuts, burns, dryness, and rashes, and so much more. These plants may also provide relief and soothe skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis.
Calendula and Chamomile have been infused in tallow, and then I added St. John's wort oil before whipping it into a fluffy texture. Nourish balm feels decadent, and has a soft and airy whip, and just a small amount goes a long way in giving the skin / body nourishment. This jar holds 120ml of tallow, which will last for several months with regular use.
I have experimented with the many combinations and various consistencies, working with both the whipped version and the solid form, and have also gifted many jars to friends and family, everyone fell in love with it.
Tallow is rich in saturated and unsaturated fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals which makes it compatible with our skin's natural oils. Deeply penetrating and helps to maintain skin's protective barrier and prevent moisture loss keeping our skin hydrated, smooth and radiant. Beautiful to apply daily, especially during the colder months when our skin needs a little extra care and attention, as it helps to keep our skin deeply nourished and hydrated. This balm feels lovely on the face, and having low comedogenic index, it should not block pores or cause breakouts, however with everyone’s skin being unique or having different sensitivity, please start slowly and observe your skin, esp. if your skin is prone to acne. Some folks can tolerate tallow and their acne significantly improved, and some had more breakouts, and it just didn’t work for them to be applied on face.
It is also safe for use on babies' delicate skin. Nourish Balm was gifted to a few expecting mamas as part of a postpartum care bundle, and few of them have shared how much they have loved using this balm throughout their pregnancy to maintain their skin's softness and elasticity, then after birth & on babes as nappy balm. Amazing to use as a foot massage and very healing to dry/ cracked heels.
Tallow has been sourced from an organic farm + grass fed cows, beautifully rendered. Nourish has a strong fragrance of Calendula + Chamomile, and there isn’t much of a beefy smell that some folks ask about. No essential oils, just whole plants infused in tallow. Small batch made with love ❤️ with Chamomile & St John’s Wort grown from seeds in my garden and Calendula blooms gathered from an organic and self sustainable community.
Ingredients : Grass fed beef tallow, calendula, chamomile, St John’s wort, organic cold pressed olive + avocado oils. This jar is 8oz and holds 120 ml of lightly whipped balm.
